Declarative Variables in Online Dating

Declarative variables of self-description have a long-standing tradition in matchmaking media. With the advent online dating platforms and their brand positioning, volume semantics vary greatly across apps. However, variable landscape multiple platforms, providing an in-depth understanding structure offered to users, has hitherto been absent literature. In this study, more than 300 declarative from 22 Anglophone Francophone apps are examined. A mixed-method research design is used, combining hierarchical classification with interview analysis nine founders developers industry. We present new typology categories apps, which highlights double mimetic-distinctive mechanism definition reflects market. From interviews, we extract three main factors concerning economic sociotechnical framework coding practices, actors' personal experience, development methodologies including user traces that influence mechanism. This work, our knowledge most extensive thus far on app variables, provides perspective intersection between users dating, mediated through among other components.
